Dharma Vista Zen Center

What we are about

Japanese Architectural Creations

Building Dharma Vista

Dharma Vista was created when Zengene  Dō came to Tucson to create this Zen center.

Zengene will hold dharma talks and meditation sessions.

He will also be using his skills to create and teach Japanese Architecture designs such as Shoji doors and windows, Japanese rooms and Tea houses along with a line of  Buddhist  table shrines all using Zen work practice.

Dharma Vista will have  numerous Zen gardens around the site.

All are welcomed to visit, have Dharma talks and meditate anytime.

The DAIDO –  (Great Way )…. A Japanese name given to our new driveway inward from the main road,  Sacred Earth Place.  The Daido curves like a river inward, around the mesquite trees at the entrance.

We have given several of our 95+ Mesquite trees names to discern their direction placement. Tall  posts with solar lanterns atop, small temple bells and Tibetan flags flank the entrance to the Daido.

Further along, solar lamps at ground level curve inward on the Daido. Shortly we plan to extend this path to sides of landscape more northward around Mesquite trees, saving the rounded out areas for cactus and natural desert plants.

The landscaping is proceeding slowly, as the land has been vacant for many years, with people and cars having made paths and roads whereupon impacting the land. Now we are creating new paths of privacy as we rebuild the sacred spaces. We are embracing the land as we make it ready for Zen center.

We have selected a Zazen (meditation) garden  in the east sector with a large Buddha. This has been developed for zazen meditation as one of the many gardens.

Other areas newly developed are The Bodhi Garden.   Amongst this alcove of Mesquite trees of shade, there are small bushes of Mountain Laurel with an informal grove of Arundo  and Bamboo.  Beyond these are a V-shaped cluster of other small trees.  Alongside this area is the pond and waterfall. The Buddha sits in this  space with a large Koi pond adjacent to the Zendo garden

We have sections that are available for tent camping and travel trailers.

We encourage all people practicing or just learning Zen Buddhism, to join us.
